Unofficial Viewsonic vp231wb DVI driver for 64 bit Windows 7

The current version of Viewsonic Standard Monitor Driver (checked in 2011-07-30) doesn't seem to work with the digital DVI input of Viewsonic VP231wb monitor on 64bit Windows 7.

If Windows reports it as "Generic Non-PnP Monitor" on your system and limits the resolution to either 720p or 1080p (the monitor's native resolution being 1920x1200), follow the steps:

1. Download my hacked driver: vp231wb-jarnos-EDID-override-driver-win7x64.inf
2. Open: Control Panel / Display / Screen Resolution
3. Choose (click on) the "Generic non-pnp monitor"
4. Open: Advanced settings / Monitor / Properties / Driver / Update Driver / Browse my computer ... / Let me pick from ... / Have Disk
5. Choose the driver you just uploaded and install it.
6. Click in Detect, restart the system or do go through other mystic motions until the resolution appears as an option in Screen resolution.
